Craft, Advocacy, and the Artist’s Approach - with Pam Guest
In this episode, I sit down with my friend Pam Guest, actor, casting director, SAG-AFTRA board member. She was very instrumental in helping me bring people on board for my film Sandpaper, which I wrote, produced, and acted in. She is also the amazing woman who played my mom in my film, so naturally she has a special place in my heart.
Pam’s career has spanned decades in front of the camera and behind it, and what I love about this conversation is how open she is about the work. We dive into what it really means to approach acting not just as a job, but as a life’s practice. We discuss the mindset of an artist, performer, producer, writer, all stemming from out lived experiences.
She shares her perspective on craft, on the responsibility we have to the stories we tell, and on why advocacy and community matter so much in this industry. It’s both inspiring and grounding, and I’m so glad to share it with you.
Thanks for listening!
